Escaped California inmate arrested in police commander's killing in Tijuana
Briefly

Cesar Moises Hernandez, an escaped inmate accused of murdering Tijuana police Cmdr. Abigail Esparza, was apprehended in Tijuana following a multi-agency manhunt. Esparza was fatally shot during an arrest operation for a fugitive on April 9. Hernandez, who had been on the run since December, was located in a one-room shack in Tijuana. Authorities, including the Baja California Investigation Agency and Special Operations Group, successfully tracked him down, leading to his capture and seizure of a firearm. Hernandez is facing charges of aggravated homicide.
Baja California Attorney General Maria Elena Andrade stated, 'We couldn't allow him to come here to mock justice and Mexican authorities... Whoever does it must pay, no matter where they come from.'
The multi-agency operation led to finding Hernandez, who was hiding in a one-room shack, where officers discovered a handgun and ammunition.
