'Blowing playa dust' could impact Burning Man exodus

"Blowing playa dust could impact departing flights and produce low visibility for those driving out of Black Rock City late Sunday through Monday," the National Weather Service's Reno office warned.
"It was a little bit on the colder side the past few days because we had a northeast wind, but we should see temperatures now 2 to 3 degrees above average once these northeast winds ease up," said Deutschendorf.
This year has been a breeze compared with last. Rain fell the day before the festival, temporarily closing the gate and airport, but the total was much less than in 2023.
With an area of high pressure building over the Great Basin, temperatures in the Black Rock Desert are expected to rise in coming days, with afternoon highs above normal Thursday through Saturday.
