The developer Whitebird Inc. is suing protesters for trespassing as they attempt to document environmental concerns about the impact of the Canyon Hills luxury housing development.
Activists argue that despite Whitebird’s reduction of the project’s footprint from 900 acres to 300, the development still poses a threat to the local environment and community.
The group No Canyon Hills, composed mostly of artists and environmentalists, emerged to advocate for the preservation of the native flora and fauna in the area.
Whitebird claims that the activists’ actions have harmed its reputation and led to increased costs associated with compliance to address the alleged illegal surveillance.
