Another AutoZone broken into near South L.A. street takeover, police say

An AutoZone in South Los Angeles was broken into during a street takeover early Saturday morning. Police reported that around 1:30 a.m., crowds were seen doing burnouts at the intersection of Century Boulevard and Central Avenue. At the same time, calls about the break-in came in, with about 50 individuals entering the store. Many were wearing ski masks and appeared to be linked to the street takeover. No arrests have been made regarding the burglary or the street takeover, and investigations are ongoing with surveillance footage reviewed.
Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, police received calls stating that dozens of cars were in the intersection of Century Boulevard and Central Avenue doing burnouts while hundreds of people watched.
Callers reported that at least some of the men were wearing ski masks, that they came from the street takeover crowd and that as many as 50 people were inside the store taking items.
Lee said police responded to the blocked intersection and AutoZone incidents, causing crowds to flee, but there have been no arrests for the AutoZone burglary.
Detectives are investigating the burglary and will be reviewing surveillance and social media footage.
