Alameda County firefighter temporarily suspended for racist remarks while off-duty

"Such behavior is not representative of who we are as a department or our values we strive to embody every day," said Fire Chief William McDonald.
"I'm not f-ing racist, I'm a firefighter," the off-duty firefighter responded during the heated exchange, attempting to defend himself against accusations of racism.
The driver, Vath Touch, urged the firefighter to let the police handle the situation, calling him racist after the inflammatory comments were made.
Alameda County Fire Chief William McDonald confirmed that the firefighter has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation into his conduct is ongoing.
