3 California Democrats denied entry to a high desert ICE detention center Sunday
Briefly

On June 8, three Southern California congress members were denied access to the Adelanto ICE Processing Center following weekend raids in Los Angeles. Reps. Judy Chu, Gil Cisneros, and Derek Tran aimed to inspect conditions of detained immigrants but faced locked gates. They, alongside ACLU and CHIRLA members, condemned the administration's action as a violation of their oversight rights. Trump's deployment of National Guard troops to Los Angeles sparked further tensions, provoking protests and violent incidents, highlighting the growing unrest surrounding immigration enforcement policies.
We have the right to conduct oversight of this detention facility. But as soon as we drove up they actually put this lock on this gate... that is not right, Chu said.
ICE is denying us entry but we won't stop demanding answers.
Trump said on Sunday the move was necessary to maintain law and order.
The raids prompted protests, and on Saturday night some agitators threw fireworks at federal officers and some LAPD officers.
