The South London Partnership's Connect to Work initiative is designed to connect individuals in need, particularly those with health issues, to local employment resources. Funded by the Department for Work and Pensions, the program aims to create stronger links among the NHS, businesses, and social care sectors to alleviate unemployment. Croydon will lead this three-year initiative that builds on previous successful programs. It plans to support up to 1,400 local residents annually, promoting skills development while enhancing the local economy as outlined in Mayor Jason Perry's Business Plan 2022-26.
We are looking forward to delivering this new programme and to offer practical and positive help to get more people into secure and suitable jobs.
This will create a holistic, joined up approach to maximise the benefits for people as well as communities.
