Heir and a Spare is an innovative chicken coop designed by Phineas Harper, Rosa Nussbaum, and Jos Geczy for Grizedale Arts in the Lake District. The coop features overlapping timber shingles for a feather-like texture, is elevated on a steel frame, and includes functional elements like venting doors and insulated nesting boxes. Funded by the Coronation Orchard Fund, this mobile structure can be repositioned within the landscape, symbolizing a blend of modern design and practical farming needs, and will significantly enhance Grizedale Arts' architectural offerings.
