Around 100 jobs to be cut at Penneys headquarters in Dublin
Briefly

Primark has announced around 100 redundancies at its international headquarters in Dublin, equating to about 7% of its 1,500 local employees. This decision involves job cuts particularly in people and culture, finance, and procurement sectors. The reason behind these layoffs is the outsourcing of support activities to Accenture in Mumbai. Primark stated that as the company grows internationally, it must adjust its operational model by leveraging external partnerships to enhance efficiency and focus on their core offerings. This development has raised concerns for those affected by the redundancies, which the company acknowledges.
Around 100 redundancies will be at its international headquarters in Dublin. It means around 7pc of the company's 1,500 staff in the capital will be impacted.
As we continue to grow internationally, we need to evolve our operating model to best support this ambition. This unfortunately will impact a number of Primark colleagues primarily in our head office operations.
