Hackney students are organizing an event to foster youth engagement in community dialogues. Scheduled for April 9 at The Atria, this initiative, led by students Romeo Bremmer, Eyda Keles, Joseph Dixon, and Alanis Hernandez Vasques, aims to empower young voices. The event intends to connect 80 local children with Hackney Council, initiating community-focused conversations. Supporting this initiative are various local organizations. The students emphasize the importance of youth involvement in decisions impacting their community, highlighting the disengagement felt by many peers who wish to contribute.
Most of my friends and school mates would love to contribute to community conversations but don't know how, so they become disengaged and apathetic.
The best way for adults to know how to engage with young people is to ask them.
