Jamie Gillan, a 48-year-old entrepreneur from Belsize Park, has commenced trading at his first independent venture on Hampstead High Street. After taking over the lease from Thomas O'Brien, Gillan has embarked on a demanding schedule, waking at 1:30 AM to procure fresh produce from Spitalfields Market. With experience in the Foreign Exchange sector and a prior stint at a fruit and veg stall, he aims to establish personal connections with his customers. Enthusiastic about community engagement, Gillan hopes the warm reception will continue as he begins this new chapter with Gillan & Sons.
"I went back into the City for a few years more and it was a bit average so when this became available I put my name forward for it and got it and the rest is history."
"Ultimately, if you can interact with someone on a personal level you're able to transact. On the same level, I'm not selling numbers, I'm selling fruit, but that sounds really cliche."
