Transport for London has launched a consultation for the new SL12 Superloop bus route, aiming to connect Rainham, Ferry Lane, and Gants Hill through Romford. This route promises to enhance north-south connectivity and support business districts in Havering. The consultation runs until 23 May, as part of the ongoing expansion of the Superloop network, designed to boost public transport accessibility. TfL officials emphasized the route's potential to serve areas without existing rail links, while local community leaders expressed strong support for the initiative.
Geoff Hobbs, TfL's director of public transport service planning, highlighted the "much-needed demand" for these routes, saying that "buses are still the most affordable and green way to travel around the capital."
Ray Morgon, leader of Havering Council, stated: "We are pleased to be working with TfL on a proposed SL12 Superloop route in the borough, something our residents really need and want."
