Pub landlord hits out at closure rumours - 'We've got no intention of going anywhere'
Briefly

The Wooden Cross in Crouch Hill, recently reopened by Paul McAstocker and Rebecca Smithson, has been listed for auction, raising concerns among locals about its future. However, McAstocker clarified that the auction pertains only to the property's ownership, not the pub's operations. The couple emphasizes their independence from the leaseholder, Stonegate, stating that they manage everything from the menu to the ambiance themselves. Local historical society members express support for the couple's determination to sustain the newly reopened pub in a challenging market.
We're going nowhere.
The sale of the business is bricks and mortar, it's a transfer from one landlord to the next.
Everything else is paid for, designed by, picked, created, by me and my wife, it's a family business.
It's good news that Paul is determined to carry on to build the business.
