On the morning of May 10, a significant fire erupted in a basement flat on Amhurst Road, Hackney, prompting a swift response from the London Fire Brigade. Six fire engines and approximately 30 firefighters worked tirelessly for about two hours to control the blaze, declaring it under control by 9.15am. Thick smoke engulfed the area, leading to the evacuation of nearby residents. Fortunately, only two men were treated for smoke inhalation, and no serious injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by LFB.
