Laura Handford, who struggled with Class A drug addiction for over 20 years, was found dead in a friend's spare bedroom. An inquest revealed she had four drugs in her system, including protonitazene. Although the drug levels were not excessive individually, the combination proved lethal. Paramedics concluded she had been dead for some time, indicated by early signs of rigor mortis and lividity. A friend, who last spoke to her a day prior, expressed concern when discovering Laura unresponsive on the floor, preceded by attempts to call for help and administer CPR.
Rigor mortis and lividity indicated that Laura Handford had been dead for some time before paramedics arrived, highlighting the seriousness of her drug addiction.
Coroner Nadia Persaud stated that while drug levels in Laura's blood weren't particularly high, the combination of substances led to her death.
