A missing cat was discovered mutilated in Leytonstone after being reported missing for three days. The local animal charity, Cats Protection Waltham Forest, reported the incident, which has now been escalated to the police and South London Animal Investigation Network (SLAIN). The death of the cat is under investigation as a potential case involving an animal killer, with authorities urging residents to keep their pets indoors at night for safety. SLAIN plans to distribute leaflets to gather information from witnesses.
A spokesperson for SLAIN confirmed to this paper that it will be releasing leaflets in search for witnesses and CCTV.
Cats Protection Waltham Forest said: "We are aware of an incident in the Leytonstone, E11 3 area where a cat has been found deceased and mutilated."
