Man in critical condition after being hit by car in Golders Green

Emergency services responded after 8.20pm to a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Golders Green Road in north west London. A 41-year-old Iranian national was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Metropolitan Police said the incident is not being treated as terrorism and is being investigated by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. A 39-year-old Iraqi national was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, serious injury by dangerous driving, and failing to provide a drug sample, and he remains in custody. Police acknowledged videos are circulating on social media and advised people not to share or view them to avoid graphic content and protect the investigation. A volunteer Jewish security group reported responding alongside police, and the incident has not been classified as antisemitic by the Metropolitan Police.
