Man charged with murder after woman stabbed to death at home near Hackney Wick

A 27-year-old man named Layek Miah has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a woman he knew at a residence on Monier Road, Hackney Wick. The incident occurred late on June 26, leading to emergency services arriving, but unfortunately, the woman was pronounced dead shortly after. Miah is remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court soon. Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney reassured the community about the isolated nature of the incident and invited anyone with relevant information to aid the investigation.

Layek Miah, 27, of Malmesbury Road, Tower Hamlets was charged with murder.
Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney, who leads policing in Tower Hamlets, previously said: I understand the local community will feel understandably shocked by this news.
