Major road in Harold Hill set for new crossing as part of Gallows Corner works
Briefly

A signal-controlled pedestrian crossing is set to replace the informal crossing on Straight Road in Harold Hill, part of the Gallows Corner improvement works. The scheme is proposed by Havering Council and funded by Transport for London as part of the renewal of the Gallows Corner flyover and roundabout. The funding must be exclusively allocated for this crossing. Residents can provide feedback on the proposal until August 1, with an emphasis on improving safety for vulnerable road users. Concurrent works include renewing water mains under the A127.
A new pedestrian crossing is set to be implemented on Straight Road, replacing the informal crossing that currently exists without traffic signals, enhancing safety for all, particularly vulnerable road users.
Havering Council's proposed signal-controlled crossing outside 8 Straight Road is funded by Transport for London, which allocated specific funds for this project, ensuring they cannot be used elsewhere.
