'Legendary figure' and 'true gent' John Mills was impossible to dislike

John Mills, who passed away at age 86, was the founder of JML, a business that sells products via in-store televisions and online. Born in Hampstead Garden Suburb, Mills had a diverse career; he served as a Camden councillor from 1971 to 2006 and was actively involved in various Labour Party initiatives. His funeral is set for May 2 at St Michael's Church in Highgate.
As a student, he started selling household cleaning goods door-to-door, and in 1958 hired a plane to fly fellow students to Canada for summer jobs, making a profit by selling off the seats.
He was a Camden councillor for most of the period between 1971 and 2006, playing significant roles in various local governance initiatives and associations.
John Mills was not only a successful entrepreneur but also a devoted Labour Party donor, prominent Eurosceptic, and a vocal supporter of the Leave campaign during the Brexit referendum.
