Landlords close popular East London pub due to 'unsustainable' rising costs
Briefly

The Gun in Homerton, a popular music-led pub, closed its doors on March 16 due to unsustainable costs despite efforts to maintain operations. Landlords Nick and Hanna-Sinclair Stephens cited ongoing challenges, thanking loyal staff and patrons. Opened in June 2014, the pub became known for its vibrant DJ scene and community events. It narrowly avoided closure during the pandemic in 2020 through a successful crowdfunding campaign and even released a charity album to support its continued operation. The owners now focus on their other establishment, The Compton Arms.
"The Gun has faced many challenges over the years, and despite our very best efforts it has become unsustainable to continue trading."
"Locals Club would like to extend our warmest thanks to our loyal staff, locals and the many DJs who helped create such a special community at the pub."
