Hammersmith Bridge has reopened its main carriageway following £2.9 million in renovation works, allowing use by pedestrians and cyclists. New decks have created three separate lanes for cyclists and a wider pedestrian path, increasing accessibility. The bridge, a Grade II*-listed structure, recently received substantial funding from the Department for Transport, with ongoing efforts to ensure long-term safety and stability. The council's total expenditure on the bridge restoration since its closure in 2020 now totals £48 million, including installation of anti-terror measures and trials for e-mobility solutions for residents.
