Families plant trees to make their neighbourhood greener
Briefly

Four families joined a community effort in Willesden to plant 18 trees and 540 saplings, enhancing green spaces around Longstone Avenue. The initiative, organized by Trees for Cities and supported by Brent Council, aims to transform the Church End and Roundwood area into a sustainable urban green corridor. Cllr Jake Rubin noted the importance of creating green spaces for future generations. With the involvement of 60 volunteers, including children, the project is part of a larger goal to plant 1,100 new trees by summer, encouraging community participation in environmental stewardship.
