The initiative in east London features fifteen selected artists tasked with engaging local communities to produce a variety of creative projects, including permanent public art, theatre, and large-scale performances. This pilot program spans Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham, and Redbridge, where artists will address the lack of representation in the local art scene. Art School Plus will assist in developing their creative processes, with support from several art organizations. More than 100 artists applied, showcasing a competitive spirit and strong interest in enhancing local cultural identity.
