Nearly half of the planned homes in Beam Park are actively under construction or completed, but a key element, the new train station, awaits approval. Since planning permission was granted in 2019, approximately 1,158 homes have been built, and another 520 are set for completion soon. The project also promises affordable housing and facilities like schools and a public park; however, without the train station's approval, further developments may be stalled until after 2035.
Around 1,158 homes have now been built, with 520 more under construction on the Barking and Dagenham side, set to complete by the end of this year.
Despite the progress, the long-promised train station has not yet gained government approval, which could hinder further development of the site.
