Woman convicted after 'senseless' murder at child's birthday party in Stepney Green
Briefly

Hope Rowe, 33, fatally stabbed 30-year-old Charlotte Lawlor during a party on September 15, 2024, in front of family and guests. After the attack, Rowe fled with her partner, Leigh Holder, who later claimed ignorance of her whereabouts. Police arrested Holder, suspecting he assisted her escape. Rowe surrendered hours later and was charged with murder, claiming a momentary loss of control. A voicemail recorded by Holder implicated them both in the crime. Ultimately, Rowe was found guilty of murder and Holder was convicted of perverting justice, leaving Charlotte's family devastated.
The family will never get over the loss and murder of Charlotte. It has destroyed us, leaving a gaping hole.
Rowe was found guilty at the Inner London Crown Court on Friday (June 15). Holder, 38, also of Piazza Walk in Aldgate, was convicted of perverting the course of justice.
