Volbeat is set to release their new album, 'God of Angels Trust,' on June 6 and will embark on a world tour, beginning with a Canadian co-headlining tour in June alongside Three Days Grace. Following a US leg starting July 17 in Denver, they will continue touring in European countries through 2025. The first single, 'By a Monster's Hand,' reflects a combination of heavy grooves and melodic elements reminiscent of Metallica's style. This creative shift came after vocalist Michael Poulsen's recovery from surgery, allowing for more spontaneous songwriting.
In the past, I've taken a long time to write and obsessed over so many elements of the songs before finishing them. This time, I wanted to make a Volbeat record without thinking too much about it.
The mid-tempo riffer has a Metallica 'Black Album' vibe with its combo of heavy grooves and melody, though the chorus climbs into power-metal range.
