The Pogues have announced an extended 2025 tour, marking their first North American dates in 13 years. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of their iconic album 'Rum Sodomy & the Lash', the tour features founding members alongside various guest musicians. The tour kicks off on September 5, 2025, in Washington, DC, with stops in notable cities including Philadelphia and New York City. The statement from band members highlights their excitement for the collaboration with new artists following the passing of frontman Shane MacGowan in 2023.
To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of our second LP, Rum Sodomy & the Lash, a veritable Super Session of musicians, a Last Waltz if you will - including the Pogues themselves, members of bands that have come after, such as Lankum, featuring such incomparable artists as Lisa O'Neill and John Francis Flynn... We're looking forward not just to raising a glass or two but also to raising the roof with our fans and friends, old and new, to celebrate the music we've made and the alliances we've formed over the years.
The new string of dates kicks off on September 5th in Washington, DC, with subsequent stops in Philadelphia, Toronto, New York City, and more, marking their first North American tour in 13 years.
