He was backed by Chad Smith on drums, Ingrid Michaelson on vocals, and Will Ferrell on cowbell. McCartney performed “Help!” and “Drive My Car.” Earlier in the episode, he performed “Days We Left Behind” from his upcoming album The Boys of Dungeon Lane and the Wings classic “Band on the Run.” He also played his McCartney II solo track “Coming Up” as the SNL credits rolled.
