MOTH Club, a music venue in Hackney since 1972, warns that proposed flats across the street threaten its future, potentially ruining the cultural space.
Edie Andrews, the venue's manager, expressed concern about the impact of the new flats, saying, 'People come from all over England and Europe to see gigs here.'
The club's Instagram called for local support against the planning application, stating any new builds would pose a serious threat to their historic venue.
A spokesperson for the architects confirmed that the planning application is in a public consultation phase, inviting local feedback, including from affected businesses.
