Allen describes the record as vulnerable and as an attempt to document life in a new city and the events that shaped her current life. The songs mix fact and fiction to examine shared human behaviors and the complexities of relationships. Since 2018, Allen has appeared in West End theatre and co-founded the podcast Miss Me.
