Iron Maiden's manager Rod Smallwood has called upon fans to minimize phone usage during their upcoming "Run for Your Lives Tour" in Europe. The band believes that excessive phone use detracts from the overall enjoyment of the live show for both the audience and performers. Smallwood expressed a desire for fans to immerse themselves fully in the experience rather than watching it through their screens. While the band may not strictly enforce this as a rule, they hope loyal fans will adhere to their request for a more authentic experience.
"We really want fans to enjoy the shows first hand, rather than on their small screens," said Smallwood in a post on the band's official website.
"The amount of phone use nowadays diminishes enjoyment, particularly for the band who are on stage looking out at rows of phones, but also for other concertgoers."
