The Festival of Ferns is a free two-day community festival held over the June bank holiday in Ferns. The event celebrates local history, local talent, and the community spirit that brings people together. After the 2025 festival was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, plans focus on making the 2026 festival bigger. A highlight is the Corner Boy concert on Saturday at Ferns Castle grounds. Corner Boy is a six-piece alternative folk-rock band blending traditional Irish music with rock, bluegrass, and Americana. Saturday includes a Knights & Princess Picnic, followed by activities at Community Park, plus tea, coffee, fresh bakes, and fundraising for St. Edan's Cathedral. Sunday features a 3 p.m. spectacle parade from St. Edan's Cathedral with samba, medieval costumes, local clubs, giant props, and surprises.
