Barbican transforms unexpected spaces into sonic art playground this summer
Briefly

This summer, the Barbican is presenting 'Feel the Sound,' an exhibition featuring 11 interactive sound-based installations placed in various unique locations, including their underground car parks. The exhibition invites participants to engage with sound in new ways, emphasizing the sensory and experiential aspects of sound. Luke Kemp, Head of Creative Programme, highlights the significance of exploring how sound impacts our understanding of the world. The exhibition runs from May 22 to August 31, with tickets priced at £21.50, aiming to be both immersive and thought-provoking for visitors.
Feel the Sound is an invitation to explore the expanded world of sound, how we feel it, see it and the possibilities it provides for us to understand ourselves and the world differently.
Ultimately, we are sonic beings. This is an exciting opportunity to open up new spaces across the Barbican and think about where we encounter sound both in our bodies and throughout the Centre.
