Fish and chips have long been a staple of British cuisine, as millions tuck into the delicious meal every week. Eating perfectly battered fish, crispy and soft finger-soaked chips... makes the dream meal.
Rock and Sole Plaice, founded in 1871, is London’s oldest fish and chip shop, serving traditional meals for over six generations of Londoners, despite not being the first to open.
Although not the first fish and chip shop to open in London, Rock and Sole Plaice has endured through time and hosted community events during significant historical moments like the Blitz.
The chippy still serves traditional meals, including cod loin with chips and lemon sole with chips, as well as 'London Style Sides' like coleslaw, pickled onions and gherkins.
