Rail delays for passengers after signalling fault
Briefly

Rail passengers are experiencing significant travel disruptions due to a signalling failure in Twyford, Berkshire. Services between London Paddington and Reading were suspended, impacting routes to the West Country and South Wales. While the route has since reopened, disruptions are expected until 13:00 GMT as trains and crews remain misallocated. Transport for London’s Elizabeth line services were also halted until the issue was resolved. GWR spokesperson Paul Gentleman indicated the challenges in service recovery, urging customers to check travel updates.
"It hasn't been a great morning, the signal failure has severely impacted those trains and it is going to take us a little while to recover the service."
"We've obviously got trains in the wrong place, crew in the wrong place and we are advising customers to check before they travel."
