"A passenger in the car aged in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to the mortuary at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. A postmortem is due to be carried out and the coroner has been notified."

A serious car collision occurred around 6pm on Powerstown Road in Tyrrelstown. A male passenger in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was transferred to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown mortuary for postmortem examination. A female passenger in her 30s sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and received hospital treatment. The driver, a man in his 40s, also received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The road was temporarily closed for technical examination by gardaí before reopening. Investigations are ongoing and authorities are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage from between 5:30pm and 6:30pm on March 7.
