I brought my kids to India for the first time. Our trip could've been better if I'd avoided these 4 mistakes.
Briefly

On a recent trip to India with my kids, I realized I had some regrets, particularly regarding packing essential items like hand sanitizer and medications. While I was initially over-cautious about street food—due to fears of traveler’s diarrhea—I eventually explored and enjoyed the local cuisine. My trip was memorable, inspired by long-held dreams of visiting India, but I learned that preparation and openness to experiences are key to fully enjoying such a vibrant culture.
I went overboard with my precautions, which caused me to miss out on some of the country’s great street food.
I knew the risks were real, but I worried that if I slipped up, I might spend several days of my trip in the bathroom.
I started indulging in the delicious offerings of Indian street food after following safety rules.
