A restaurant fire in Hornsey sparked a major emergency response on Park Road, leading to temporary road closures and significant traffic congestion. Fire crews were alerted shortly after 11:30 a.m. on June 6, with six fire engines and around 35 firefighters dispatched to control the blaze, which partially damaged the ground-floor commercial space. Fortunately, four individuals had evacuated beforehand and were assessed by paramedics at the scene, without reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but the roadway has reopened following the incident.
Emergency crews responded to the incident in Park Road, Hornsey, just after 11.30am on Friday, June 6.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: ‘Six fire engines and around 35 firefighters responded to a fire in Park Road, Hornsey.’
The brigade was first called about the incident at 11.37am, and crews from Hendon, Tottenham, Edmonton and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The incident led to the temporary closure of Park Road in both directions, causing traffic congestion up to Crouch End Hill.
