The Bakerloop, an upcoming addition to London’s express bus network, will parallel a projected extension of the Bakerloo line, aiming to serve underserved transit areas. Officially designated as route BL1, it will connect key points from Lewisham to central locations like Waterloo while featuring fewer stops than conventional routes. Operational seven days a week with varying frequency, the bus will offer regular ticket pricing. Though supported by Mayor Khan, funding for the Bakerloo line extension remains pending. Scheduled to launch this autumn, it aims to enhance local transit connectivity.
The Bakerloop will mirror the route of a future Bakerloo line extension and is designed to connect underserved areas with fewer stops.
Buses on the BL1 route will run seven days a week, every 12 minutes during peak hours, and will have regular normal bus fares applied.
