Transport for London (TfL) has launched a six-week consultation for the new SL11 express bus service in southeast London. This route aims to replace the existing 472 bus service, with a more direct path in Woolwich town center. Operating from 5am to midnight using double-decker buses equipped with USB charging, the SL11 will connect with the SL3 route. TfL's director, Geoff Hobbs, and Greenwich Council's deputy leader, Averil Lekau, highlighted its role in enhancing public transport use and supporting carbon emission reduction goals.
The SL11 express bus service will link several neighborhoods in south east London, aiming to provide a faster and more reliable transport option.
Geoff Hobbs emphasized that buses remain the most affordable and green mode of travel in London, underlining TfL's commitment to community needs.
