'A massive pain but well worth it': Gallows Corner project welcomed
Briefly

Transport for London (TfL) announced plans to refurbish the Gallows Corner flyover, originally built as a temporary structure in the 1970s, now needing significant repairs due to its poor condition. The upgrades aim to accommodate heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and raise the speed limit from 20 to 30 miles per hour. Although the project will cause temporary disruptions for local traffic, Havering Council officials express optimism for improved journey times and long-term infrastructure benefits.
Barry Mugglestone, Havering Council's cabinet member for environment, commented on the need for refurbishment, saying, 'It will clearly lead to massive issues for the borough on our roads when it is closed.'
Council leader Ray Morgon stated, 'Gallows Corner flyover is literally on its last legs. We therefore welcome that it will finally see a major refurbishment.'
