A woman has been taken to hospital after ingesting a possible hazardous substance at a property in Thornton Heath.
Two police officers were exposed to the substance as they dealt with the incident. They also remain in hospital.
London Fire Brigade crews were called to Croydon University Hospital and safety cordons and closures were put in place.
Specialist officers examined the item and safety procedures were carried out.
