Azusa Nishii, a 32-year-old woman, tragically died after a 20-kilogram box of food fell from a refrigerator, crushing her neck. A court heard she suffocated.
Senior coroner Graeme Irvine stated that the cause of death is unnatural, as the compression of the neck resulted from the heavy box falling off the fridge.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident, and upon arrival, they discovered that the deceased may have suffocated due to the weight of the falling box.
A post-mortem examination identified the cause of death as compression of the neck, prompting the inquest to be opened and subsequently adjourned until 2025.
