Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) is not selling its Croydon site, as confirmed by both the council and the developer. Croydon Council prioritizes town centre regeneration, supported by URW through its Town Centre Vision and Growth Plan. URW aims to collaborate on urban development, including the North End Quarter masterplan, which integrates retail, housing, cultural venues, and public spaces. A new retail option in the refurbished Allders department store will debut in the autumn, while community events are also in partnership with URW.
The regeneration of Croydon town centre remains a top priority for me, and I have been working with a range of external partners to drive forward my Town Centre Vision and Growth Plan for the borough.
URW is committed to working with all partners in Croydon to create a revitalised town centre, including thousands of homes, with URW playing the role of an urban masterplan developer.
The North End Quarter masterplan outlines a new vision for central Croydon, featuring a mix of retail, homes, cultural venues and public spaces.
A new retail offer is set to launch in the former Allders department store this autumn, after major refurbishment works to bring the building back into use while preserving its heritage.
