Mads Hermansen has joined West Ham from Leicester City for around £20 million on a five-year contract with an option for an additional year. The 25-year-old goalkeeper had an impressive last season with Leicester, despite their relegation, making 72 appearances and helping win the Championship title in 2024. His arrival is part of West Ham's plans to strengthen the squad after the departure of Lukasz Fabianski. Hermansen will vie for the starting position with Alphonse Areola, who has played 26 Premier League matches.
West Ham have signed Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen for around 20m, after several weeks of negotiations between the clubs. Hermansen has agreed to a five-year deal.
Despite Leicester's relegation from the Premier League, Hermansen impressed last season, making 72 appearances and winning the Championship title in 2024.
Following the departure of Lukasz Fabianski, Hermansen will compete with Alphonse Areola, who played 26 matches in the Premier League last season.
Casper Ankergren, who previously worked with Hermansen at Brondby, is currently serving as West Ham's goalkeeping coach under manager Graham Potter.
