The swift action of two police officers, who entered a burning building to rescue trapped residents, showcases the bravery and dedication that defines the Met Police.
Commander Paul Trevers stated, 'The actions of these officers exemplifies the qualities that runs through the core of our officers in the Met Police: bravery, tenacity, and above all a desire to keep the public safe when faced with danger.'
He also emphasized the importance of community support, noting that 'the courage of the members of the public, who alongside our officers, helped ensure the safety of those inside the building' is commendable.
Following the rescue, it was reported that 'three residents and one officer were taken to hospital for treatment due to smoke inhalation, but all are expected to make a full recovery.'
