A 44-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday (April 6). The pair remain in police custody.
Police confirmed that further remains were discovered at Rowdown Fields in Lodge Lane, with forensic analysis confirming them to be human remains believed to belong to one victim.
Detective Inspector Martin Thorpe mentioned, "Although we are unable to formally identify the victim at this time, my team are working around the clock in order to do so. Their enquiries have made significant progress."
DI Thorpe added, "I understand the significant concern this discovery will have caused to local people, and I want to thank the community for their patience. I can confirm our work at the location is complete."
