Trafalgar Square menorah dismantled due to high winds
Briefly

The Chanukiah, a beloved symbol of Hanukkah in Trafalgar Square, was dismantled due to safety concerns stemming from high winds predicted for the upcoming festival.
Despite collaborative efforts by the Jewish Leadership Council and the Mayor of London, the giant menorah’s removal has necessitated alternative plans to ensure Hanukkah is still recognized.
In lieu of the Chanukiah, a smaller menorah will be displayed in Trafalgar Square, with a festive projection of 'Happy Hanukkah' planned for Nelson's Column.
Since 2007, the Menorah has served as a cultural beacon, welcoming Londoners of all backgrounds to celebrate the Jewish festival of lights together.
