Tickets Alert: Visit the Cosmic House in Holland Park
Briefly

The Cosmic House in Holland Park is an extraordinary example of Post-Modernist architecture, transformed by architect Charles Jencks and his family. Despite its unassuming external appearance, the interior is a vibrant display that challenges conventional aesthetics. Visitors to the house often experience a dual reaction—admiration for its artistic elements or a sense of overwhelming decoration. The house opens for tours on a limited basis, notably on the third Friday of each month, often selling out quickly due to high demand.
Externally, it looks like a normal sort of house for the area, but the architect Charles Jencks and family gutted most of the interior and built something that is really quite stunning.
Not necessarily nice, as that's down to individual tastes, but it is most certainly stunning.
You'll feel stunned when you visit, either from admiration or the sensation of having been hit around the head with something heavy such is the overwhelming level of decoration of the house.
In the past, they used to run tours in two batches a year, but now they're released on the third Friday of the month.
